I am caregiver for friend who 7 yrs ago broke tailbone on my front porch. 7 years no life for either of us. She in pain relieved by Fentanyl patch 50 mcg/ as well as marijuana. Marijuana is preventing suicide. I am former RN worked 7 yrs as charge nurse in psych at 2 hospitals. We are in our late 60’s.
Failed coccyxgectomy 7 yrs ago. Now we are looking into other medical aid.
What do you think is the proper procedure. I have had no life; she has had no life.

Hi, Judee. I am very sorry to hear about your friend’s persistent tailbone pain despite having had the coccygectomy. Unfortunately, many people continue to have tailbone pain even after coccygectomy, and many of them subsequently find their way to my Tailbone Pain Center for evaluation and treatment.
